A long association and tradition with horses the Etter family needs little introduction within the equestrian world and is represented by a family business focused on the sale, training and breeding of sport horses in the hands of Gerhard and Hedi Etter who give their knowledge and passion to their activities.
Gerhard Etter, who competed at the highest international level, has gained a strong reputation due to his experience and his excellent eye for the selection of good and promising horses. Using the depth of his expertise together with honesty and loyalty, Gerhard is a suitable advisor and first point of contact when choosing a new horse, be it for the professional sport or as an amateur. At their core business located in Switzerland, Gerhard is actively supported by his wife, Hedi, who works alongside him and also competed successfully in showjumping. They jointly established the thriving Etter Sportpferde AG.
The family network is completed by sons, Daniel and Marc, and daughter, Andrea, who are also involved in the horse trade of their parent’s business. All of them were or are successfully competing on the national and international show jumping circuits and they form an active part in sustaining and expanding the family tradition. Andrea Etter runs the breeding operations at Belmont House Stud in Ireland which operates a performance-oriented breeding program and breeds horses both for the international sport and for the amateur sector. Marc Etter is an international course builder. He also organizes shows or sales events and supplies show equipment, for sale or rent, through his own company, Etter Events. Daniel Etter and his wife, Marie Etter Pellegrin, are both competing internationally in show jumping at the highest level. Daniel and Marie also dedicate substantial time to the producing of young horses and the training of students. All of them share their passion for horses at the centre of their activities.
While all members of the Etter family work closely together, everyone has their own department - their own niche - within which they have their own roles and responsibilities and from where they cooperate and give advice to each other.
